GLORY 44 Chicago results: Murthel Groenhart overthrows Cedric Doumbe, Van Soest stops Uslu

Murthel Groenhart overthrew Cedric Doumbe via split decision last night in the headline bout of GLORY 44 Chicago, to be was crowned as the new GLORY welterweight champion. Whilst Tiffany van Soest made her first defence of the women’s GLORY super-bantamweight title with an emphatic stoppage win over Meryem Uslu in the main event on, GLORY 44 SuperFight Series.

Groenhart who, is a former K-1 Max champion, reinforced his kickboxing legacy  by capturing the GLORY welterweight championship that had eluded him on three previous occasions against former GLORY champion, Nieky Holzken. Doumbe had been the first fighter in GLORY Kickboxing to end Holzken’s four year unbeaten streak and would defeat him again by decision at GLORY 41 Den Bosch.
