Lion Fight 37 ‘brought the violence’ at Foxwoods Resort Casino as Jo Nattawut successfully defended his Lion Fight super-middleweight title against, Petchtanong Banchamek, whilst former MMA fighter, Chip Moraza-Pollard, defeated Paul Banasiak to become the promotion’s first cruiserweight champion.
Both main and co-main events would be decided via unanimous decisions for the victors. However, both title-fights had their moments of coming to an end in the fifth and final rounds. Nattawut caught Petchtanong in their final round which, would help to seal the decision in his favour, between the two Muay Thai veterans.
Whilst, Banasiak and Moraza-Pollard had a “brutal fight” to determine who, would become the, inaugural Lion Fight cruiserweight champion. Banasaik would get knocked-down in the fifth from a head kick, after going go all out for the win, knowing that he was behind on the scorecards from the way that “The Surgeon” had had a better start than him. What ensued was an entertaining fight that undoubtedly leaves the door open for a potential rematch between these two adversaries in the future.
