Danish fighter, Niclas Larsen, will co-headline GLORY 40 Copenhagen against, Muay Thai prodigy, Yodkhunpon Sitmonchai. This will be Larsen’s second fight following his return to action, after serious ill-health (and an absence of almost three years) from word kickboxing and Muay Thai. A win will set Larsen with entry into the next 4-man lightweight contender tournament which, will secure the eventual winner with, a title shot for the GLORY lightweight championship.
Ibrahim El Boustati rematches, “It’s Showtime” and GLORY veteran, Filip Verlinden, in a headlining title defence on, April 29 at Enfusion Live 49. “The Beast” was shockingly knocked-out in his previous outing by Ulrik Bokeme at Enfusion Live 46 but that fight was a non-title fight.
El Boustati had previously defeated Verlinden via a close and controversial decision at Enfusion Live 41 last year and the “Verlidengate” fall-out a month later caused even further controversy and animosity between the two fighter’s and their respective camps. This time though, Ibrahim will be defending his Enfusion middleweight title against Verlinden (in their previous clash, he hadn’t).
Abdou Karim Chorr returns to GLORY Kickboxing, after an emphatic KO victory over Sanny Dhalbeck in his last outing four months ago. That victory was considered as the unofficial ‘Battle of Swedish Muay Thai’. However, a win for Chorr against Youssef Assouik will result in an immediate GLORY contract.
Lion Fight and K-1 veteran, Chris Mauceri, joins the show ahead of his return to GLORY Kickboxing after, 9 months due to injury, rehabilitation and recovery. Mauceri will take on Chinese kickboxer, Yuhang Xie, in the opening fight of the main card of GLORY 40 SuperFight Series.
Paul Banasiak, the renown founder of the highly popular online platform, the “Muay Thai Athlete” and one-half of the highly successful, “Muay Thai Guys” podcast, will be co-headlining Lion Fight 36 against, fellow cruiserweight Brett Hlavacek. The latter is a well known veteran of US Muay Thai and the bout will only be Banasiak’s fourth professional fight but the Polish born American Thai boxer, has plenty of drive and determination to get to the top.
